VMF Name: kketell

KKPony started it's life as a 1966 GT fastback. My wife gave it to me for Christmas of 2000 because she is a wonderful person.

I have always been in love with the 1966 Mustang. KKPony is my fourth Vintage pony, but my first fastback. When I was younger I dreamed of both building a "hotrod" and owning a '66 fastback Mustang. KKPony is the culmination of those two dreams.

When I got KKPony the engine was an "A" code that had been warmed over by some previous owner. It had a Cobra dual-quad manifold with a pair of Carter AFB (now Edelbrock) 500 CFM carburetors on it. The linkage was not progressive, so both carbs worked at the same time, which gave a pretty much on-or-off functionality to the throttle. Very tough to drive on the street.

KKPony now has an EFI setup from Imagine Injection on a FRPP 302 crate engine. The combination should be putting out something around 350-375HP at the flywheel, but I have not yet verified this. The reason for the Imagine injection setup is what I like to refer to as the "ohhh-s??t" factor. I wanted people to look under the hood and utter the words "ohhh-s??t". It works quite nicely.

At this point in time there is nothing stock left of the original 1966 GT fastback except for the body and the back seat. The body will remain it's original color, which is Ivy Green Metallic. The interior will lose the white door panels and be black-on-black.

The suspension has been setup with any eye toward road racing and SAAC open track events. I have not yet put any track time on KKPony, but am looking forward to it greatly.

You can see more of KKPony and get the complete parts list at http://home.pacbell.net/kketell if you so desire.
