My name is Ryan Weiss (VMF username 73429MACH) and my car is a 73 Mach 1. It's an original 351C car but now has a '71 429. I bought it from my Uncle in 1984 when I was in high school. This was my first car. I drove it as a daily driver until 1989. In 1990 I installed the 429. In 1993 I tore it down for a complete restoration. Some of the work performed included the replacement of both rear quarter panels, rear wheel housings, trunk drop offs, trunk floor, tailight panel, rear valance, pass. door, full floor pans, 3 engine compartment panels and partial cowl replacement. All work was done by me with the exceptions of the interior upholstery, headliner and stripe application. This project was supposed to take about a year but ended up taking 8yrs (plus 2 daughters later) to complete. The color I chose is Porsche Guards Red and the stripes are from the '71 Mach 1. The engine block, engine compartment, underside of car and wheel housings are all painted red. The engine is a '71 429 bored .030 over, Comp. Cams 268H camshaft, Edelbrock Performer intake, Carter 625 carb., Hooker Super Comp. headers, 2.5 inch exhaust, Flowmaster mufflers, C6 auto with shift kit, 9 inch Trac. Lok with 3.25 gears. For the wheels I chose Cragar SS's, 15x7 with P25560R15 tires on the frt. and 15x8 with P27560R15 tires on the rear.
