You want the 85 Mustang, not 84. There were two distributors used in 85. One was for the EFI that used a flat tappet and computer, you don’t want this one. You want the distributor for 4V carb and 5 speed listing. It may be listed just as 5 speed or 4V carb. I bought one from Autozone, around $85 IIRC. It’s a brand new unit and it’s very nicely made. It comes with two caps. A black vintage style with brass terminals and a latex model wide 2 piece cap with male aluminum terminals. I’m pretty sure it’s made by Spectra. It’s made in Taiwan not China. I’d recommend this one! You could also get it from Rockauto, I’m pretty sure it’s the very same unit.

Stock points. If you’re asking what I did with the roller cam, I used a Melonized MSD gear from AutoZone. It was about $30. I verified with a tech at MSD that in fact it was compatible with the billet camshaft. If you go Duraspark, again Autozone sells a really nice brand new distributor for a 85 5.0 4V Mustang for about $70. It comes with a small cap with brass terminals and a 2 piece wide cap with aluminum terminals.
