  1. Deck lid spoiler

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I've seen so many Mopars over the years with Mustang spoilers, maybe it's time someone did the reverse.
  2. Shelby Clone Issues

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Hmmm… All the GT350 65-67 came with the LeMans carb. It may be big, but not obscene. The GT350 came with the C3OZ-6250-C 289HP camshaft. The OP has the C7FE-6250-A, which I would hardly call a mild cam, at advertised duration 318°/304°, lift .528/.528. As for size, I ran a Ford 3-2V intake on...
  3. Shelby Clone Issues

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Well, finding one isn't a problem. Paying is. Cobra LeMans carburetor They run just fine, well, as well as any Holley. Having driven Holleys on my daily driver for 15 years, I've seen enough. But if you are installing an aluminum T pan, Cobra intake, and Tri-Ys, then you should probably use...
  4. Engine brackets/ mounts 65 to 66-70

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I had it from a Ford engineer who was there that certain Mustangs had a vibration at 35 mph, I don't recall if it was a specific engine version or transmission. Ford fixed it by switching to a somewhat different insulator, Ford C7ZE, industry 2286. The rubber pad was the same, as was the bracket...
  5. (Probably) A dumb radio question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
    That doubles the impedance.
  6. (Probably) A dumb radio question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
What body style is the car?
  7. (Probably) A dumb radio question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
It will cut the impedance in half. Bad idea.
  8. 66 ammeter jumping around like crazy

  9. Engine brackets/ mounts 65 to 66-70

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I have addressed this countless times. Manufacturing spec mounts all the same height 65-70. The 67-70 convertible sets the angle of the rubber differently, to counter a vibration on some cars at 35 mph. No difference in height. The urban legend began when people forced hardtop mounts into...
  10. T/S housing with temp port

    Vintage Mustang Forum
He's right, the housing is on the cold side of the thermostat. The top of the intake manifold is by far more accurate.
  11. SCJ R Code Question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
It was kinda the other way around. If you got the Drag Pack, the engine upgrade was part of it.
  12. SCJ R Code Question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Oddly, only the 4-speed CJ and SCJ had staggered shocks. Auto trans CJ and SCJ had the normal configuration. (I know you know this, but maybe not everybody)
  13. Clutch pedal return spring (or whatever its called)

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Before you die, read this link. It is dead easy to remove or install the assist spring with absolutely no risk whatsoever. Assist Spring
  14. SCJ R Code Question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Yes, I would upgrade to the SCJ. The difference was the moving parts in the block, stronger rods, special balancer, oil cooler, etc. The SCJ was included with low (numerically high) axles because the engine was expected to run higher rpm. Oddly, the engine code was not affected, i.e., your R...
  15. 1965 Front Blinkers Not Working

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Don't worry about the diagram, get under the car, look at the wires coming out of the parking light. They should go into the headlight bucket. There's a plug behind the headlight bulb that should be connected.
  16. T5 with Z bar - whats the proper throwout bearing

    Vintage Mustang Forum
IIRC, I have the Ram 88502, which if memory serves, is equivalent to the C7ZZ 10.5" stock replacement for the 289HP and BOSS 302.
  17. SCJ R Code Question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Yeah, the SCJ came with a rev limiter, but of course people disconnected them to go a tiny bit faster, then found out what it was for.o_O
  18. lifter/rocker arm noise?

    Vintage Mustang Forum
    Hmmm… I think you can add the BOSS 302, BOSS 351, 351HO, 428SuperCobraJet, BOSS 429, and 429SuperCobraJet.
  19. Engine brackets/ mounts 65 to 66-70

    Vintage Mustang Forum
The engine mounted at the same height regardless of the mount type (before or after 11/1/65). The same mount was used in 66-72 Mustangs, for 289, 302, and 351. That includes the BOSS 302 and BOSS 351. Safety ears were added in 1970, to prevent the engine dropping through broken mounts.
