  1. 6 long years!!!

    Vintage Mustang Forum
My 68 convertible is back on the road after 6 long years of being buried in the garage. I swapped the engine and bagged the numbers matching one. I put another 289 in it and it is finally back on the road for the nice weather.

I am still around and kicking, been working on all kinds of tractors cars and trucks. I finally got to put my 68 vert back on the road. This is the first summer out of the garage in the last 6 years.
  3. 68 Mustang Header question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Thanks, for the reply. Well, I guess I'll get the car up on Jack stands and turn the front wheels lock to lock and make sure there is no rubbing. I haven't started it yet, and have some stuff to do before I can just trying to make sure most of the bugs are out before I get caught with something...
  4. 68 Convertible Rare?

    Vintage Mustang Forum
My 68 Convertible was built in October and it has the recessed markers in the rear, There were a lot of things changed midway through the year. Side markers had to be there on a 68 car, it goes by law for that model year, not by what month it was manufactured.
  5. 68 Mustang Header question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Been awhile since I've been on here but I am trying to get the 68 back on the road this year. Its been 5 years since it has been run, I swapped the engine and rear. I put the headers on today, they are Hooker Super Comps they driver side is one super tight fit. I have it all in and bolted up and...
  6. Been along time, but I have a question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Thanks Frank Frank, that is exactly what I was hoping. Been busy with the house but did manage to race the Mustang II last fall. Had it seriously detuned for gas mileage on the street. Since I rebuilt it I got a killer set of heads but they are super small chamber and it brings the compression...

  10. 70 Degrees Today!

    General Discussion (Non-Vintage Mustang)
Was a nice day out today, I had to start the II and take it for a drive. I haven't caught up with everything I have on the list to do so I didn't get to work on the vert at all over the winter. Maybe one of these days I'll get it back on the road.

  12. Cutting out mustang ii front susp.

    General Discussion (Non-Vintage Mustang)
Just cut the frame rails in front of and behind the cross member. The cross member and rack is all you want. once you get it out of the car drill the spot welds out that hold the frame sections in and use just the cross member and rack out of the Mustang II. all the rest is better bought new...

  15. Back until more parts come in.

    General Discussion (Non-Vintage Mustang)
That orange car looked pretty nice, a friend of mine found a Mach 1 in trenton for 1300 and he passed on it. Was a V8 too, Changing from a V6 to V8 isn't too bad just a matter of chasing down the engine mounts, radiator, Manifolds (or headers) all the suspension is the same from V6 to V8. These...
  16. vacationing and found a desent car

    General Discussion (Non-Vintage Mustang)
That one looks to be a SE not an RT The vinyl top cars were usually SE's and that doesn't say RT on the side where it says Challenger. still a nice car but not worth as much as an RT. My stepfather owned a 70 RT convertible in the same Gomango orange with a white convertible and a 440 6 pack...

    General Discussion (Non-Vintage Mustang)
I have spent the last 6 years on this car, it is almost complete now. I am looking for a 65 mustang rear without the pumpkin 8" I need housing axles backing plates. Gonna change the mustang II over to 5 lug so I can put 69 Mach 1 wheels on it. I have already ordered the front rotors but the back...

  20. Karens II is running strong

    General Discussion (Non-Vintage Mustang)
Not looking for 14" wide, just 14" diameter and I have a set that are from a 69 Mach 1 and thought they would look good since the car has the blacked out hood and a shaker on it. http://pic90.picturetrail.com/VOL2150/851574/1535460/365568803.jpg
