  2. Aluminum heads or factory E7 and newer heads?

    Mod and Custom Forum
gt40 P heads flow about 20 cfm more than E7 heads if i remember correctly. a 347 stroker with gt40 heads will be lucky to make 300 hp. not worth it in any way. they are a performance gimmick from ford lol
  3. Aluminum heads or factory E7 and newer heads?

    Mod and Custom Forum
any aftermarket entry level head is a big improvement over ported E7/gt40 heads. they are garbage and dont fall for the gt40 hype. they are a waste of money.
  4. 351 W power gains from heads and cam

    Mod and Custom Forum
look at it this way, if you sold your 170's put that $ towards the heads then you will upgrade for little more invested. i would definitely go that route. afr205 head, with a edelbrock rpm air gap & that trickflow cam will be easy 500 hp or more. will be a very stout but tame street car engine

This was started a while back and put on hold because i was not sure if i wanted to go this route with the fuel tank. Im starting with a brand new replacement tank and sending unit. I fabricated a rear bottom feed sump with 2 threaded bungs for AN fittings. My thought is to weld the stock fuel...

No recent work done on the car, but some things worth updating. I scored a correct width 9'' rearend 28 spline axle a while back for $300. A complete set new in box Crane 1.6 aluminum roller rockers for $50 from a buddy found in the trunk of a dirt track car he bought !
  9. Advice on installing subframe connectors needed.

    Mod and Custom Forum
My Alpha 200X has both foot & trigger controls ( which i will add that i absolutely love this machine). If you are ever looking to replace your vulcan, this is one that i would recommend looking in too. At work we use a huge variety of miller and lincoln tig machines. None of them have a...
  10. Advice on installing subframe connectors needed.

    Mod and Custom Forum
I did not read through all the comments so sorry if anyone already discussed this. The only think i would worry about it checking the car for twist before welding them. The really only way to make subframe connectors make a big torsional difference is to attach them to the torque boxes, and /...

No real up date for the car other than lots of planning and brain storming. I have put my self in a much better financial situation where selling the car is no longer a thought. Good news is while i have not had any time to physically work on the car, a while back i decided to use my fabrication...
  12. Race engine crankcase ventilation

    The Track
how much is it raced and what rpm will it see ? if its often i would opt for better method than a breather. on budget go with a header evac system. if you have the coin then do a vacuum pump. both evac systems have advantages that offset the cost, like more power, better ring seal. less chance...

  14. Coilovers with BOTH adj height AND spring preload?

    The Track
If you want separate setups for street and track, in my opinion simply have two different sets of coilover's would be the easiest and most cost effective way of doing that. my car has a hybrid tubular coilover setup using double adjustable on the LCA. 2 bolts and they are out. Have a a longer...

I had planned to sell the whole car outright without sinking any more money in to it,because financially i could not finish the car. When i told my son that i was selling the mustang, he asked if we were going to finish it first. I told him no because its too expensive of a car, he starts crying...

I do not really want a stockish drivers car, My 7 year old son had a lot to do with wanting to change the car. over this last fall i gained physical custody of him (which he always lived with me anyways) but he loves the car and wants to finish it. he loves muscle cars, he wants to build a...

The direction of this car is going to dramatically change. A lot of thought has been put in to the decision of making this a nice driver quality, performance spirited car. I am thinking of selling most all of the high performance engine stuff, roll cage etc. i know it will be a hit financially...
  19. Anyone have experience with Ridetech control arms?

    Vintage Mustang Forum
i do not like the fact it uses a bushing on the rear mount & a bearing on the front. As the suspension travels the rear bushing will see lots of twisting because the articulation the front strutrod mount causes .
