  1. Firewall Flexing...looking for options

    Mod and Custom Forum
I spoke to Mustang Steve and he advised that this is all normal. He mentioned even the original manual transmission mustangs with the linkage have firewall flex. Seems like this is nothing I should really worry about too much.
  2. Firewall Flexing...looking for options

    Mod and Custom Forum
I'm doing a t5 conversion in my '65 Mustang and went with the mustang Steve setup. I bought his firewall adjuster, fox booster, pedals with the quadrant, and the reinforcement plate for the firewall where the pedals mount to the firewall. Everything is hooked up now. While I was adjusting the...
  3. Cobra rear caliper brackets

1964 1/2 through 1966 Mustang Parts For Sale
My apologies once again, it was early and I was distracted with other things going on. I took it personally and got defensive. My reaction was irrational. I bought them for my '65 Mustang. I bought the car as a roller and it's been a long multi year project getting it running. It's still not...
  4. Cobra rear caliper brackets

1964 1/2 through 1966 Mustang Parts For Sale
My apologies for getting defensive. If anyone serious is interested in them PM me. They go to the trash in a month if no one wants them before then.
  5. Cobra rear caliper brackets

1964 1/2 through 1966 Mustang Parts For Sale
It's the exact same bracket, look at my pictures again. All I did was powdercoat them satin black. For whatever reason, he started drilling extra holes in them, don't know why. Perhaps you should try asking him. Link him to this thread, maybe he'll respond. I have better things to do than to...

  9. Who here has a 94/95 T5 with a clutch cable?

    Mod and Custom Forum
I have a 1965 coupe that I installed a 94/95 Mustang T5 into. I have a set of headers that will work with a fox t5 not realizing the clutch fork in the 94/95 trans is clocked differently. I plan on running the Mustang Steve cable setup because my power brake conversion won't give me room to...
  10. Conversion crossmember for 94/95 T5?

    Mod and Custom Forum
Thats disappointing, I didn't want to have to trim the shifter opening. I may have to try a pro 5.0 to see if the fit is any better. If I go with the 93 t5 the shorter input shaft will require trimming the front of the shifter opening. Can't win I guess.
  11. Conversion crossmember for 94/95 T5?

    Mod and Custom Forum
I'm using a triax as well. At the moment I have the shifter disassembled so that the plate is currently bolted to the transmission only. I'm hoping I can bolt the base and handle back onto the plate after the transmission is fully bolted in. What part of the triax didn't clear the opening...
  12. Conversion crossmember for 94/95 T5?

    Mod and Custom Forum
Thank you for confirming. I do have the modern driveline t5 cross member. I'll just modify it as you suggested. What did you use for a spacer? Just a piece of sheet metal?
  13. Conversion crossmember for 94/95 T5?

    Mod and Custom Forum
What cross member is everyone using with their 94/95 Mustang T5 5 speed conversion? As I recently found out the hard way, my standard t5 crossmember isn't compatible without modifying it since it's designed for the t5 with the shorter input shaft. Since the trans mount for the AOD sits further...
  14. Lug Nuts for Torque Thrust M?

    Mod and Custom Forum
Mainly trying to figure out best way to measure the length of the stud that protrudes from the opening in the wheel so that I can be sure that the length of the lug nut is long enough.
  15. Lug Nuts for Torque Thrust M?

    Mod and Custom Forum
I was trying to decipher the tech sheet for my torque thrust m wheels to figure out what lug nuts to use but I didn't get too far. Curious what lug nuts everyone is using for these wheels? I know the sockets are pretty deep, not sure if there's a specific size and style I need to go with?
  16. Rack and Pinion steering

    Vintage Mustang Forum
K/h brake calipers were crap brakes that were pronebto cracking and seized pistons. It took ssbc building a better version of the caliper for them to be considered decent.
  17. Rack and Pinion steering

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Well the fact of the matter is, you won't find a steering box on any modern sports car and there certainly aren't any kits to convert from r&p to a steering box. Take that however you'd like. If the steering box works for you, cool deal. I still have my oem rear drum brake setup if you're...
  18. Rack and Pinion steering

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I've tried researching if its possible to uave a steering box without that inch of play and everything I've read has indicated that its simply characteristic of the way steering boxes are designed. Every vintage mustang I've driven, even ones with rebuilt boxes, have all had that play up top...
  19. Rack and Pinion steering

    Vintage Mustang Forum
That feeling when you're driving down the road and you have about an inch of play to the left and right before the wheels actually start turning. You don't get that in r&p steering.
  20. Rack and Pinion steering

I can't prove that any more than you can disprove it ;)
