  3. Motor appears to starve or flood during driving.

    The Track
I just installed a new motor (500hp/500tq) in the car and I put my used 650 quick fuel with mechanical secondaries on the motor. The car was running fine and then it would not start. The rear float was stuck and flooding the motor. I pulled a screw and drained the bowl and then the car started...

  5. oil pressure gauge install ?

    Vintage Mustang Forum
ZRAY, thanks for the image but I am not using a sending unit on my gauges. I thought the accuracy would be better with a mechanical gauge. I could be wrong. Handy Man, thanks for the tip.
  6. oil pressure gauge install ?

    Vintage Mustang Forum
OK, I was not sure if the oil would flow up the extension and ito the tube. Is the oil pressure port under direct pressure from the pump similar to the rockers?
  7. oil pressure gauge install ?

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Im installing a mechanical oil pressure gauge and I was wondering if I could still use the sending unit extension near the oil filter. Installing the small hose and fitting would be easier with the extension but Im not sure if I would get a good reading. Is it necessary to mount the hose/fitting...
  8. Master cylinder conversion question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Thanks for all of the info. Is there a measurement for the proper brake pedal distance from the floor? The height is adjustable and I just guessed. So the rod from the booster to the MC should almost touch the piston (.015) when the brake pedal is not being pushed? The Pedal should move no...
  9. Single wire alternator question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I just upgraded to a single wire alt on my 65. The direction call for a single wire to the pos side and a ground. The old alt had a 3 wire (white, black, black/white) plug that went from the alt to the front of the car around to the drivers side. Do I need to do something with these 3 wires or...
  10. Master cylinder conversion question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Drum/Drum and the kit came with an inline residual valve for the drum setup. Does not feel like a booster issue. Feels like an adjustment issue or air in the lines but the brakes were just bled for the 2nd time. 3rd time might be needed....
  11. Power steering leak

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I noticed a power steering leak on my 73 so I tightened the hose and fitting on the back of the pump. Only made it worse.... Does the fitting require Teflon tape?
  12. Master cylinder conversion question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I changed over to a new booster and dual master setup from SSBC on my 65. The brakes work but the pedal feels soft. Must push the pedal almost to the floor to stop. Do I need to adjust the rod that goes from the booster to the master cylinder piston? The pedal height is fine. Thanks
  13. water pump question

    Vintage Mustang Forum
My new small block has a timing cover setup for a water pump with backing plate. Is there an aluminum pump with backing plate or only cast iron?
  14. water pump help needed

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I just received my new 363 motor and I have an issue. The motor is gorgeous but the balancer/pointer are set to the passenger side where the water outlet is located. I can change the balancer and pointer back to the original drivers side but I was wondering if anyone else has run into this. Im...
  15. Dual MC suggestions

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Thanks, Im hoping to find a complete kit with lines, distribution block and instructions. Most of the setups Ive found are for disc/drums and all parts are not included. Any complete kits recommended?
  16. Dual MC suggestions

    Vintage Mustang Forum
The car is an Auto and I do not want to cut export braces. Im interested in changing the booster and mc.
  17. Dual MC suggestions

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I just pulled the motor on the 65 and Im thinking this would be a good time to add the security of a dual master. I currently have the stock power booster and single master. Im not interested in changing over to discs. What would you recommend for parts?
