  2. High-beams Only

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I have had this same issue -- I have high beams but no low beams. I replaced the dimmer switch but it did not solve the problem. Any ideas beyond replacing the dimmer switch? FWIW I also installed the relay harness that runs power directly from the battery and throws off a lot more light --...
  3. I'm building a console

    Vintage Mustang Forum
For those who have a slightly different situation, I already had a factory console but TMI doesn't build a saddle console for the 1968. As a result, I built an arm rest with cup holders and USB ports. I even added a speaker into the back side of the arm rest so it would pump decent audio to...
  4. Quartz Clock for Dash Cluster - PRICE 50% LESS for VMF Members!

    VMF Deals
Hey Mike, indeed you were the very first customer for the 69-70 Deluxe, which was only my second clock model designed/produced. Since then, I have set up a new website with about 20 different clock models! Would you be willing to provide us with a brief testimonial that we can post on the...

  7. Quartz Clock for Dash Cluster - PRICE 50% LESS for VMF Members!

    VMF Deals
Hey all. Based on the success of my original 1967-68 clock, I have spent the past several months designing and building a much larger product lineup for Impact Auto Parts. All clocks are quartz movements and battery operated, with prices that beat any competitor. I now offer the following...
  8. 1969-70 clocks: two questions

    Vintage Mustang Forum
    1. Can anyone confidently provide the precise dimensions of the screws that are (or could be) used to mount a Deluxe or Standard clock into the back side of the 1969-73 dash or console? 2. I am also interested in any feedback Mustang owners might have for a desire to see for sale a repro dash...
  9. Identify this part

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Wow, I am glad I asked as I never would have guessed that. Is there supposed to be one on the driver side valve cover as well? If not, why not? I don't see a similar place to bolt in a similar bracket on that side...
  10. Identify this part

    Vintage Mustang Forum
This was bolted on the top of the passenger side valve cover on my 68 FB V8 engine. Is this perhaps a bracket to prop up the arm of a stock air filter? Or is this to prop the water hose off of the valve cover? Or something else entirely?
  11. Distributor problem

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I have been able to clock the distributor to eliminate the knocking and misfiring, but I am still having electrical issues with my EPS working with my 8mm spark wires installed while the EPS works perfectly with 7mm wires, so I must have an issue with one (or more) of the 8mm wires. If I want...
  12. Distributor problem

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Malstrom, thanks for the video link. When I turn my distributor clockwise, the engine's idle speed increases. Perhaps I am misunderstanding your prior post, but are you saying that is NOT supposed to be happening? Does this mean I have another problem?
  13. Distributor problem

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Thank you. I installed a new engine to chassis ground about six months ago, so I think that potential issue is covered. If I decide to switch from my 8mm wires to 7mm, should I expect a difference in the optimal clocking position of the distributor? In other words, would the spark wire size...
  14. Distributor problem

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Does anyone want to offer their $0.02? I could really use some input from someone who might have faced this type of problem previously before I attempt to diagnose and troubleshoot this on my own. Thank you!
  15. Distributor problem

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Up until recently, my distributor/ignition system was running perfectly, but I am currently having great difficulty with it. To provide some background, about a year ago I swapped out my points and installed a new distributor with an electronic ignition system along with new 8mm spark plug...
  16. Stock front and rear height of 1968 FB

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Thanks for the additional feedback, Yes, I understand that lowering the front is not the reason to complete the Shelby drop, but my understanding is that it does impact the height so I want to see if I can kill two birds with one stone. I will gladly accept better handling as well! I already...
  17. Stock front and rear height of 1968 FB

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Sincere thanks to every poster who has offered his/her $0.02. Even though the opinions are not unanimous, the rationales for them are really instructive for a guy like me who isn't even sure what the considerations might be. Whatever I decide to do, it will probably be on a budget of a few...
  18. Stock front and rear height of 1968 FB

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I am flirting with tackling the Shelby drop. As a very small initial step, I am interested in understanding the degree to which my Fastback's current height in the front and rear wheel wells is anywhere near where it is supposed to be. I inherited this car less than two years ago and I am...
  19. 16 gallon fuel tank system

1967 through 1968 Mustang Parts For Sale
Selling a used repro 1968 fuel tank system. This was pulled from my Mustang to upgrade to a 22 gallon tank and is in good condition. This tank was installed before I inherited the car a year ago, so I can't say for sure when it was installed, but the visuals suggest it is relatively new...
