The one you say is "brown in a sheath" I believe is your PINK resistance wire, which should go to the "C" terminal on the switch along with a RED/GRN (which you probably see as RED/BRN).
  2. 5/16 rocker stud torque value?

    Vintage Mustang Forum
    Ford's M-6049-Z304DA "Z" head has 7/16-20 rocker studs.
  3. amperage for blower motor

    Vintage Mustang Forum
FWIW, it's pretty hard to screw up the blower motor circuit... Two wires go to the motor. One is hot off the ignition switch through the fuse panel (14 amp). The other is a ground wire that runs back to the blower motor resistor in the heater box, then 3 wires run from there to the heater...

No. Condenser is grounded by its bracket. Wire is connected to BAT post on alternator.

Granola. Takes a D-91 pad. Probably the reason why no one has mentioned the rear linings is that I don't believe EBC makes rear shoes for the Ford 10 x 1-3/4 but IIRC, Porterfield does.
  7. If your'e looking for a laugh

Right! There's no substitute for proper training. On the other hand, I can confess that twice I have forgotten to re-install the drain plug and have "lubricated" the floor with fresh motor oil.

  9. Eaton Power Steering Pump Pulley Size ?

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Instead of swapping pulleys, maybe changing the spring pressure by using washers or shims, or modifying the valve? A call to Chockostang (Dan Chockley) may yield some suggestions.
  10. hanging door solo

    Vintage Mustang Forum
I use a 4x4 block about 2 feet long with 2 parallel furring strips covered by an old towel then wheel that sucker on up to the pillar. Using 2 of the bolt holes in the threaded plate on the back side of the pillar to hold it fast with a zip tie will let you get one bolt started in each hinge...

Another option is finding a narrow LHD front-steer rack, flipping it for RHD and placing it behind the wheels....
  12. Lights Brightening/Dimming

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Nope. The part you link to is a distributor (ignition) condenser. The '65 version or any "generic" alternator noise condenser should work fine. Mount it to the alternator ground post and connect to the BAT post. I'm anal so I'd make up a short wire with a female bullet but you can also snip...
  13. Mysterious Electrical Gremlins

Grab your ohmmeter and check the coil. Primary resistance should be +/- 1.5 ohms. (RED on +, BLK on -). Secondary should be 7-15kOhm (RED on +, BLK on high tension tower).
  14. Power Steering Mystery: 67 stock 289 Mustang

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Just a note... when you say you "replaced the pump", did your replacement pump come complete with the reservoir already installed or did you have to remove yours and swap it over to the new pump. If the latter, perhaps you omitted the seal/gasket between the pump body and the return elbow?

Casting number on the back of the spindles will tell you where they came from. Squeaking comes from high frequency vibration (like chalk on a blackboard) so if they are properly dampened no noise will occur. Crappy pads and shoes are common. Suggest some Porterfield R4-S linings or EBC street...
  16. amperage for blower motor

    Vintage Mustang Forum
Heater/Blower fuse in the OEM panel is a 14 amp. Blower motor is "hot" all the time when the ignition is "ON" and grounds through the resistor unit to the switch. You can run it on high speed by jumpering the non-powered wire to ground.
