I have had this car for about twenty years. The project started when I was single and then got stalled when my son was born. Now I'm retired and starting to work on it again. I have changed from 4 wheel manual drum brakes to 4 wheel power disk brakes using a Lincoln Versailles rearend. Also replaced the automatic trans with a top loader 4 speed. Maybe a 5 or 6 speed swap in the future. Haven't decided on what color to paint it but dark blue or black are possibilities.
1970 Ford Convertible (Red)
Currently there is a base 302 but I have a built Boss 351 engine to go in it. Thinking of Holley EFI and distributor. Definitely changing cam from solid lifters to roller hydraulic. Would like to go long tube header but nobody seems to make for Cleveland 4 barrel 4 speed car.
I have all the pieces to do a Mach 1 interior, but thinking of updating gauges to something from Dakota Digital.
Stock at the moment but have all the pieces to change the rear end to 1969 Shelby. Was going to do a Shelby clone but now I think I will do the front end in Mach 1 style with sport lamps and shaker. When you have the parts why not use them.
Not sure yet.
Car is currently lowered 2 inches with Global West coils up front and their leafs springs and lowering blocks in rear. Planning to switch to Street and track coilover in front and Total Control 4 link G-Bar system in rear.
Wheel and Tire
Currently has 69 Shelby wheels but will change to 17 or 18 inch for Boss 302 Trans Am brakes set up in front.
