Ok, guys. I have some pics of the new wheel combo. I have 18x10's in the rear on a Mickey Thompson 28x12 Sportsman S/R Tire. It would come out to the same as a 305/40-45/18 tire. The fronts are 17x8's with 245/45/17. I'm probably gonna drop the front about an inch or inch and a half and drop the back an inch as well. We'll see.

Oh, and for those that want to know, I could probably put an even wider tire on the rear if one got a rim and calculated it's perfect backspacing. The rear backspacing is 6.44 inches and the front 4.5 BS. I wish I could've gotten those rims with a BS of like 5.75 or 5.5 even, but they aren't made. They're the Bullitt rims, btw.

As some of you know, my axle isn't perfectly centered and it still cleared the leaf springs. I hammered some of the inner wheel wells ahead of time just to be sure. I have about a 1/4-1/2 space between tire/leaf springs. But I still have about an 3/4-1 inch out I could go on the Outter rear well.

That is one of the best appearing Clydes I've seen. Nice car, and yes, those rims are perfect.

Ya, it looks good to me!

Now the house in the background appears to be in desperate need of some paint... :p

Check the insides of those tires to make sure they are not rubbing against the leafs and UCA. That seems really wide for that old of a car.

Other then that...looks good.

Where in Western NY are you?

I like the stance as is. Maybe just a smidge lowered in the front, but even if you didn't, it looks good.

Yeah, I have good room. I can stick my finger pretty easily between the tire and the leaf spring. That's more room than zaps has on his 73 even.

OH, and I think you have me confused with TrueBlue- he leaves in NY, I live in Texas.

I'll tell you what though, adding those taller tires has seemed like I've added an AOD to my drivetrain, lol. I've dropped my RPM's by about 400-500.

But man is it doggie on the low end now. So I'm definitely gonna have to add a 9 incher posi, and an AOD and toss these 2.73 open gears.

Funny thing is, I could so easily spin my right tire before. Now with the taller tire and alot more pavement to grab, I couldn't spin a tire for 100 dollars.

I like the taller tires.I run them taller in the back. Speedo off, RPM's down...simple cheep over drive ;)

Spin Shmin...waste of rubber. Your set up and car are just simply sexy. I wouldn't change a thing.
