I was digging around in the barn for a hood last night to sell to a guy and I ran across a pair of original 64 1/2 hoods that I'd forgotten I even had. Both are in excellent shape, which begs the question- what are they worth? I sold the stock '66 hood for $60- it was near perfect with the exception of 6 small holes where someone had added a scoop at some point. The guy was happy as he was going to add one anyway, so it worked perfectly. AFAIK they don't repop the 64's, right? So what are they worth- or are any of you guys/gals looking for one?? lol:grin2:

64 hood

I bought one for my 64 a while ago and it was $500- completely painted and ready to mount on the car. Hood was in perfect condition. If this helps any.

A friend offered me $250 for the hood on my car a couple decades ago, cuz he had a '66 hood on his '64.5 and he wanted the correct one. Obviously I turned it down, cuz then my car wouldn't have had a hood. But he was serious about the offer.

I was quoted $200 for a 64.5 hood supposedly in nice shape, plus the shipping.

If it was painted and ready to go, you stole that hood! A couple years ago I hit a deer with my 99 Escort ZX2. I went to the junk yard and bought a hood, radiator and some other parts. While the hood was the same color, the paint was in poor shape while the paint on the car was in nice shape. I went to the body shop I’ve used since the early 80’s and knew the guy. Just to paint it was going to be $500. He said the cost of paint has gone crazy. There was no body work needed to the hood either, just sand and paint, $500. If it makes any difference it was silver.

I also bought 2 NOS coupe 1/4 panels from him for $500. Black primer 1/4's.
