At what point (if any) did the 65/66 Shelby GT350 sport the “Shelby” style gas cap?

I see images online of both - but with the thousands of unrestored and restored pics, I see these both being used:

Was the “GT350” cap purely aftermarket and no GT350 ever came with it as built from Shelby?

They may have come about in 1966. My buddy's '66 came with the Shelby style.

All 65s had Mustang stock cap. Unsure of when. I posted a question about this on the carryover site. My "guess" is it switched when 66s rolled out. Here is prototype 66 with cap.

Looking at Tony D. Branda's site, stock Mustang cap for '65 and Snake/GT350 for '66

ALL '66s from 001-2378 had the "snake" gas cap. Mine is 477. That cap was ONLY used for '66.
