I am rebuilding my daughter's 65 Mustang, which was originally a six cylinder car with four lug wheels. Can I replace the rear axles with a better axle and convert to a five lug wheel pattern? Any information on this/axle sources would be greatly appreciated. I also plan to change the fronts with a disc brake conversion kit....any one kit/supplier better than another?

So, I must change the rear end to get to five lug wheels? Any idea what will fit width wise and mount to the original springs?

The Ford 8" is what came in the V8 cars originally and is still pretty popular because they can be easy to find and cheap. Some people will do a 9" install for the strength. But if you are wanting the wheels I'd say find an 8".

And Yes, those of us who have 4 lugs do suffer from choices.
