The brake shoe on the rear driver side on my coupe is missing the lever for the parking brake. I didn't notice this when I rebuilt the brake a while back. It wasn't an issue then because the PO had removed much of the parking brake assembly.
The cable was just tied up under the car. When I removed the drum to see if I could start fixing this mess, I noticed there is no place to hook up the end of the cable. The passenger side shoe has the lever and I hooked it up, but I don't recall removing a lever from the shoe on the driver side.
If any of this makes sense and you can offer any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

If I recall correctly, when you buy a set of shoes you get 2 primary and 2 secondary shoes. You have to transfer your e-brake bracket from the old to the new shoe. Either:

a. You forgot to transfer it or
b. You put two primary shoes on one side and two secondary shoes on the other.

b would be the better situation because at least you know where the bracket is.

a would be the most probable!



Don't know where you would find the lever, except possibly a junk yard.

That kinda sounds familiar. I still don't remember exactly, but I'd be willing to bet the idiot PO lost the bracket. Thanks, Frank.

Well that would explain the cable being tied up under the car! Gotta love PO's!
