I had the same problem. What worked for me was to use a small plastic chisel and use a small nylon hammer like a watch makers hammer and just tapped it out.
Did you chip away the entire front piece in order to slide the back section off the switch? I tried turning the back main body of the switch but even that didnt work.I had the same problem. Yeah, I'll have a go at this to see if I can get some more leverage to twist or tap it out with the hammer. Thanks!you may be able to cut part way through the bezel with a Dremel and pop the bezel with a flat blade screw driver in the cut.
