I recently had the cable to my tilt away steering column replaced, only to find the solenoid is not operating. I can't seem to find a replacement for the solenoid and am praying there is an option to do so. I would want to avoid purchasing a used, aged solenoid as it most likely is on it's last legs. Any suggestions? thanks, Jim

Might seem strange but if you do find something, send me your old one. I’d tinker with it and see if I can repair it.

West Coast Classic Cougars is probably the authority on tilt-away columns. They most likely have what you need.

Another source of Tilt-away parts and service is a local guy named Steve Liebenow. He goes by "FastMerc" on most forums, including here. Last time I spoke with Steve a few years ago, he mentioned he was planning a move to the Hollister area.

Yes, chances are it can be carefully disassembled, cleaned and returned to functioning condition.
