I have a hack job to repair. Guy cut in half the sterring rod brackets and welded a piece as a front cross member. I have full steering rod brackets with new bushings that 45 degree off frame to connect to what?

The sheet metal on the front cross member I bought is light and doesn't seem to be weight bearing enough.

Car had an aftermarket radiator so the raiator support was not in there either. Does it provide support for these 45 degree pieces in addition to the front cross member?

Welder at the ready........or back to the web for parts...

Hey Paul,
I'm not quite sure what you are after, but i'll try and explain how the support brackets go. They are welded on at the bottom of the front frame extentions and go at a angle to the front crossmember and are welded on to the bottom of that. The strut rods go into the support brackets on one end and the two bolt end goes into the lower control arms on the other end.I hope this is the info you were looking for, but if not drop me a line and i'm sure i can help you out. Mike
