While preparing my engine for removal, I noticed that a wire has been cut (see pic).

What does this wire go to?

Thanks in advance.

Block with red wire loop is for the neutral safety switch by-pass. I assume you have a 4 speed car. The cut wire is for the reverse light switch which is located on the shiftier mechanism under the car.

The RED/BLU "loop" is the NSS bypass for a manual transmission car. The BLK/RED on the other side of the plug is the backup light switch.
