I stopped by and took some pictures of my prospective Mustang. They're on my website if anyone has the time to check them out:

http://www.utahz.com/Main/Other/other.html

If it's not this Mustang, it will be another one. I want to be patient, but this looks like a candidate, I'm just not sure about the price/condition/value. He wants $3500

Everyone has been really helpful already, and hopefully the pictures will help. I'm meeting him tonight to start it/drive it/check it out.

Thanks again,

Bob

Mmmmm. You actually like 69 coupes??? And torquise ones? I'd suggest waiting on what you really want. Its out there just be patient. These things are like puppies. Once you take it home you'll feel responsible for it and not give it up. Wait til you find the Mach 1 and then throw your money and heart at the object of your desire not a 'make do' object because it was a good deal.
Just my opinion. Throw it out with the trash if you want.

Personally, I like the '69 coupes (guess that's why I have one *LOL*). That looks like a great project car. Take a look at my website to see what it could look like with a small amount of work (ignore the paint job, though ... hasn't been painted yet).

I think $3500 is a little steep for a Coupe, unless it has some high quality and recent resto work supported with documents. It will cost as much to restore as a Mach 1, but will never have the desireablity of a Mach. As the other poster states...If it's a Mach you want, hold out for a Mach. However, I drive and enjoy a 1969 Coupe, I bought it with 88,000 miles from the original owner in 1996. It was in good condition and cost me $2500.00. It is an excellent daily driver. And lowered with large rims it draws constant compliments even in its current primer condition. For $3500 though I would hold out for a Mach or maybe a Grande coupe.

Bob,
The car looks good, but pics can be deceptive. If you want something for comparision, I live in Murray and have a 69 in the garage.

I didn't see the $3500 price tag when reading the original post. That seems high to me, too. I paid $1500 for my '69 coupe in MUCH better condition than that (of course I think I got one hellofa good deal).

I also know where there's a '69 Grande down the street from me in better condition than that with a $2700 price tag on it.

If you can get the price down, though ... it still looks like a keeper to me!

Nope, I'm not that Bob Wright.

Anyway, I went and looked at it, started it, and passed on it. The rust in the trunk makes me think it will need a new RR Qtr Panel, the engine runs rough (rebuilt last year, uh huh), has a trans from something he's not sure what (thinks he got it from a 79 Granada), and is missing pieces. I've learned from past Datsun restos that I don't want a car someone else already poked at unless they know what they're doing, and especially if they've started replacing parts just to get it going.

So, I passed and am still looking.

Thanks for the helpful comments.

Bob, I sent the email of GT owner here in a private message. I don't have your email address. Click on the flashing mail/letter symbol at top of screen to retrieve the message.
Good luck.
