I have a 1969 9 inch 'N' case I'm wanting to put in a 66 GT that I'm restoring. I know it's 2 inches wider than stock for 1966 so wondering if anyone can tell me what wheel width and backspacing i will need to fit inside rear qtrs.

My 2004 mach 1 rims have a backspacing of about 5 3/4. With your extra inch, that should put you around 4 3/4 on each side. That is close to what most shoot for on backspacing 4.5- 4 3/4. But I am guessing, I do not have any experience with what you are doing.

Understand what an 'N' case is and obviously there are always other options. I'm wanting to know if anybody has put a 1967-1969 9 inch under a 1966 and if so what wheel width and backspacing i need.

Since the 1969 axle is 1" wider on each side you're going to need wheels that have 1" more backspace than that same wheel on a 1966 axle. What size wheels do you want- 14x6, 15x7, 16x8? Personally I can't stand the look of 17" and larger wheels on a classic Mustang. They just don't look right.

Agree on the 17's, don't like'em. I would like to go with 15x7 Magnum 500's but didn't know if I could get enough backspacing with them
