I removed my drive shaft with the yolk attached and took it in to be rebuilt, straightened and balanced. It's been so long since I put one back in. I know that the inside of the yolk need lubricant but does the outside of the yolk need lubrication also? I know I have to lube the u-joints once it is installed back in the car. Thanks in advance for you help.

A light coat of 80W-90 (or spline grease) on the splines of the output shaft and gear oil on the outside of the yoke will suffice.
