I was told that my P/S pump reservoir should be that bluish-teal color. Should the cast pump itself be the same color, or should it be black? If black, what type?

Thanks,
Joe

The front of the pump is the same color as the reservoir.
Also when I took my virgin 1 owner BOSS apart the 3 blots that hold the front of the pump to the bracket were also painted.

Perfect timing! I just finished assembling the internals to the front casting.

Thanks again,
Joe

Mine is so old I really can't tell-but I think it is all that dark teal.

One last question ;-)

There are two nuts holding the reservoir on, one thin and one thick. Does anyone know which goes on after the ID tag and which one holds the indexing bracket?

Thanks

The thin one is .1915" and the thick one is .2525".

The pump may have come from a small block, I think it had the mounting bracket that wraps around the backside. The thicker nut may have been holding the bracket to the pump outlet.
