I am working on a 1970. The old turn signal switch did not mechanically work for a left hand turn. The switch did not catch to stay on. Plastic is broken. Worked for a right turn. I purchased a new switch and harness and have installed. The new switch has the same problem. I have found that the switch lever hits the bottom of the cutout in the column when trying to put down for a left turn. When the switch is in the neutral ( no turn) position the lever is almost hitting the bottom of the cutout instead of being in the center of the cutout. I changed back to the old switch and it is the same way. Looks like the brass cylinder that the lever screws into is misaligned somehow. My other 2 70's that I restored are not like this. Any ideas?
