I recently bought a '71 Mach 1 to restore and just finished it... I know when I bought it the person had in the options "Competition Handling Package", which I had forgot to ask him what that was and cannot reach him any more.

Does anyone know what this package consists of?

Thanks!

The Mustang Recognition guide lists the following for the Competition Suspension package:

-extra heavy duty front and rear shock absorbers
-heavier front stabilizer bar, along with a rear stabilizer bar (rear bar only 351 4V and larger cars)
-Staggered rear shocks included with 351 4 barrel, Boss 351 and 429 equipped cars.

The package was part of the Mach1 option package. It included the springs, shocks and sway bars mentioned above. It also included the variable ratio steering box on P/S equipped cars, which had an i.d. tag with SPA-T code, and was approx 3.25 turns lock-to-lock.
