I'm beginning to detail the engine on my convertible, and need to know the color for the engine. I've checked out Duplicolor "Corporate Blue" and "Old Ford" blue, and neither is close to the original color on my engine or air cleaner. I've read on a previous post that the 1973 color was different, but I cannot find what color blue was used. I'm thinking of taking my air cleaner to the paint shop and having the color mixed, but if there is a good match out there, I would prefer knowing this.

Try Krylon "Dark Ford Blue". I've found it to be darker than the Duplicolor.

Though I would normally suggest a slightly lighter blue (when compared to the earlier small block) for the Cleveland based engines I just pulled a NOS snorkel and compared it to engine color paint chips I've shot from different makers. I know this is not perfect or exact but best I have to offer this moment.

The best match was Plasticote 224

Duplicolor "Corporate Blue" and "Old Ford" were not close
