Well, after two bum buyers on eBay and alot of my time, it's still for sale. For those coming to the Lake Compounce swap meet on Sunday, 11/6, I should have it there, so you can check it out.

This is a 250 6-cyl, C-4 automatic car. Original color is 4Q, dark green metallic with the black deluxe convertible interior. Short console, dual racing mirrors, AM radio, tinted glass, standard gauges, P/S, PDB.

It's non original motor, have receipts for rebuilt engine and trans dated 1985. Runs nice (with manifold leak), trans shifts fine, fluid is clean. I have driven it up and down my road a bit. I have replaced the entire front brake system (lines, hoses, calipers, M/C, pads) so it stops okay, one of the rear brake lines is rusted thru.

Owner said it was involved in one accident in 1985, where the driver's side door and quarter were damaged. At that time, the car had both quarters and outer wheelhouses replaced, all body necessary bodywork was completed and then it was given a full paintjob in the original color. The paint is still in decent condition, has chips, scratches and a few dents but shines nicely. Not the best paint job, but at least it's not primer.

Now, for what it needs...

The inner rockers and floors are rotted and will need to be replaced. The quarters are in need of front and rear lower patches, but the wheelhouses and quarter arches seem solid. The trunk floor will need to be patched or replaced, as well as the taillight panel. Doors in need of some minor work, but are useable. P/S fender needs a small patch, D/S appears to be fine. Trunk lid is a goner, thanks to a mouse nest. Strut rod crossmember is badly rotted and needs to be replaced. The radiator support needs to be patched. The forward d/s mount area for the impact bumper strut is rotted. Frames and shocktowers seemed fine. Fender aprons are fine, except for under the battery tray and a small spot hidden behind the washer bottle.

Interior is pretty decent, but is a bit dirty and needs a carpet. Driver deluxe door panel is cracked, but could be repaired or just replaced, P/S is nice. Dash pad is crack free, except for some tiny cracks underneath by the center cubby. Driver's seat is split at seams, passenger has one split, rears are mint. Grille is broken. Convertible top is rags.

Overall, this car does need a bunch of work, but it is a complete, unmolested car that won't drive you nuts (or to the poor house) trying to find the convertible-specific items. It's been owned by the original female owner since July 23, 1973. I have the 1973 title issued when she bought the car. She didn't hack or disassemble anything. All work was done by the local Ford garage where she bought it. The paint and body were done by a Mustang restoration shop that is now a full service collision and paint center.

Price is $2000 or best reasonable offer. I'll consider a trade for an 18' car trailer. Vehicle is located in Killingworth, CT (06419). I'm available pretty much any evening or weekend for you to look at the car. I have many 71-3 parts that I will make available at a fair price to the buyer.
