I was aksed the other day if the below was true or not and I did a search to try and find out some info but came up short. Can anyone help point me in the right direction as to wether or not this is true?

" Weren’t the 25th Anniversary Mustangs produced in 1989 (1964 + 25)?

Weren’t they all (the 25th Anniversary Commemorative Models) Dark Forrest Green convertibles with white tops and interiors with chrome 5-spoke rims? "

Yes and no. Yes, there was a 25th Anniversary Mustang, but no, they weren't all green. I know a couple who bought one (also was their 25th wedding anniversary) and it was white. They still have it, too.

I beleive they were the Dark green 5.0 verts with GT wheels and white leather GT int. They were originally supposed to be a promo car for 7-UP, but when 7-UP backed out of the deal Ford had to do something with the cars and sold them off as anneversary cars. Laurie, just becouse the dash plaque says '25 years' doesn't make an anniversary car, every mustang made in 1989 had that plaque on the dash. However if this not the case, I appologize.

You're right, I may be thinking about a 20th Anniversary edition they had, can't remember for sure. I do remember the car has "Anniversary" on the side someplace. Haven't seen it for a long time.

I had a 25th Anniversary stang it was Blue over grey and it was 1990. I was told the 25th production went from about half way through 1989 into early 1990. Mine had the dash plaque and the GT turbine wheels.

Starting in April of 1989 through to April of 1990 every Mustang did get a 25th anniversary pony emblem on the dash though. The 7 Up cars were not Ford anniversary cars and they were 1990 cars.

A friend of mine has a 1990 25th Anniversary Mustang. It is blue with gray interior. Has the emblem on the dash and has paper work with it. He has owned it since day one. They came in all the colors I think also.

There wasn't an Official "25th Anniversary Special Edition". ALL Mustangs produced from approx April 1989 thru June 1990, received a "25th Anniversary" badge on the dash - that was the official "25th Anniversary" run.

Included in that run in early 1990 were the 4,103 "special edition" Emerald Green cars, often associated with the 7-UP promo in which 30 were supposedly given away. 7-UP got into the "program" AFTER Ford had started building the cars - they were not specially built for 7-UP, the NCAA, or the NBA. The 7-up promo is where the cars (incorrectly) earned the "7-UP edition" name - but only 30 were planned for promotional use of the 4,103 built!

The Emerald Green cars were NOT "25th anniversary specials". They were "spring Special Edition" cars, much like the special White, Yellow, and Red Spring Editions that followed in the next few years.

More info on the 25th Anniversary here...
