I have a 67 289 and I found someone who is selling a 306 lower end out of a 70 302.

Will this work in my 289?

Yep. I have a 74 302 in my car with all of my 289 accessories on it.

Basically the only difference between a 289 and a 302 is the stroke on the crank. A 306 is just a 302 bored 0.030" oversize. Will you see a performance difference? Maybe a little but depends on what it has for a cam and pistons and the likes. IMO not enough much.

Not that you'd notice in the seat of your pants. Depending on the rest of the combo it might make a 10-15 hp difference on a dyno from the extra cubic inches.

Thanks for the info.

I am going to be running a roller setup with reworked cast heads, haven't decided about the bottom end yet.
