i have a 1967 a-code fastback my car was produced november 9,1966 i have several 289's and im wondering what casting numbers should i be looking for? (heads, block, intake?). thanks for reading my post.

C5AE-6015-E, C6AE-6015-C, perhaps others. More important is the date codes. Should be older than the car, by 1-8 weeks, typically.

If you have a look at the engine block deck just below the distributor there is a flat piece of casting . One of the long waterpump bolts actually goes into this, you will see a stamping there , eg my 260 v8 has 3 M 13 which tells me the block was assembled in 1963 December 13. I thought this date was in fact rather early for a car with a build date 0f 06/06/64 but it might be the original engine, who knows.

Date codes will vary in location from part to part.

Manifolds, heads, waterpump, etc will all have date codes... if they are all within a 2-4 week timeframe its a good bet they are original, or somone did thier homework reassembling the parts.
