Does anybody know what happened to the No2 eleanor in the original gone in 60 seconds? I was always lead to believe that there was only one eleanor in the original movie.
While pausing and going frame by frame I found both cars in the same frame. If you watch toward the begining of the chase while only the torino is chasing the mustang. The cars round a corner with shops up and down both sides and lined with cars on both sides also about 2/3's up the city block on the right side is the 2nd eleanor. You can see this from the camera in the torino.
I was just wondering if anybody knows the cars whereabouts?
If not if there is a way to identify this car? Was the car a beauty car. I figured that they had always filmed the part after the car wash first.
The movie is on speed channel tonight so check and see for yourself.

I have it on DVD, never noticed that. Good luck finding it though, it would be a real keeper if you did locate it. Not quite as big as the infamous "Bullitt" Mustang which has supposedly been located in the midwest and is owned by some farmer who doesn't want his name getting out.

Since it's going to be on TV tonight, I wonder what they'll do with the shop scenes with all the nude pinup girls on the walls...

John,
I was 9 years old when it came out. I begged the parents to take me but that wasn't in the cards. Yes I was a mustang nut at 4 years old with no coaxing from anybody.

IIRC it was at a Mustangs (cars) & Mustangs (planes) car
show at Santa Monica airport. This was about 6 years ago
and they had the GI60S #I car and a GI60S #II both there.
It was b4 the new one came out and was the first time I
saw either Eleanor I or II.

As I understand it, both Mach 1's are owned by the same private collector in Reno NV. One or both cars are on display at the Harrah's Casino Car museum in Reno from time to time. I'm surprised they aren't taken out of moth balls and hit the car show circuits again with the popularity of the new movie.

Can't answer your question. But I have watched the movie & will watch it again tonight to see.
I graduated high school in 74 & I laugh now at the B rated movie & the hair & clothes styles. I KNOW I didn't dress like that! :(

You really have to enjoy the REALLY big hair in the film. I recently got the movie and marveled at the (roughly) 45minute chase scene...'s. Funny to think that it was the mac daddy film or effects back then. The edition I got has the other chase/crash scenes the same director had done. To think, I was about 10 when it was in the theaters, REALLLY big hair! LOL

I thought the director's wife says 100 Mustangs were used to film the movie?

It appears that the directors wife needs to get her story strait!
