It looks like my whole 302 is run by 2 belts? This motor came with air and power steering. The air conditioning compressor pulley, air cond tensioner and crank pulley are on the outside groove and that seems fine. The alternator, water pump, power steering and crank are on the inside belt and they are all in the same plane so it looks like it has to be like this. The belt is rather large at around 59 inches. The part that worries me is that it only cuts across the water pump for about 3 inches maybe as it goes between the alternator and power steering pullies. This just doesn't seem right to me but I looked at the old diagrams in my NPD catalog and they show 2 belts on a motor such as this. My water pump pulley only has 1 groove in it. Does anybody else with a 302 have this set up? I guess there just is not that much drag on the water pump pulley but I'd feel better if I had 3 belts.
