I am not sure of the stall, but I also have some questions. Is the 351CJ converter the one with 8 flywheel bolts? And what is the going price on these? Not auction price, real world local sale/trade price.
I have a 73 vert with the factory 351C-4V and a C6. The air cleaner sticker says "351-4V" instead of "351CJ" but as far as I can tell it's the same motor. Anyway, the factory converter in my car stalls at about 1800 rpm. That's what I've been told and I confirmed it with a tach and some left-foot braking. I'm going to a higher-stall converter in the near future.
Does anybody know what happened here?
I am going to start by unbolting the fender along the top and get the bolt out from behind the door and see if something needs to be tucked in - hopefully won't have to take the whole thing off - it lines up really well everywhere else
