what's the capacity of a stock oil pan for a 351C? Mine came out of a 72 Cougar, if it's important...

Thanks,

Not sure of the pan capacity by itself, but a 351C ('71 variety) holds 5 qts (I'm sure that it's less than that since all the oil doesn't completely drain on an oil change).

5 quarts is what the factory say's. The boss 351 was a 6 quart pan and only had a dip stick change and a couple baffles otherwise a regular pan. I run 6 in my 351C and have had no problems.
