I was given a free 390 engine and upon taking it apart i found front driver side piston had a broken connecting rod. When the connecting rod broke it took out a piece of the block. Picture can be found Here. Is this block usable, or is it beyond repair? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I have a chip knocked out of my 302 just like that. It is still running 20k later. You will want to really clean up the block-hottank it and have it magnafluxed at a machine shop. Mine might be the exception!

Take it to the machine shop. If nothing else, Im sure they can sleeve that cylinder.

if not, 390 blocks are cheap.
