I have two sets.

#1 : left side - rods are C7AE-B FoMoCo logo w/dished pistons w/ 390 and 2V cast into the skirt by the wrist pin.

#2 : right side - rods marked ARD1AE (some w/ -A) Most have AFB5D on the other side. No other discernable markings. Pistons, flat top w/a slight chamfered area on each side. Quite a bit shorter in height than the others.

I believe the C7AE-B's are original for an S code? Anyone know what the "2V" implies or what the other setup is from? Both are from 390's. I think the ARD1AE are earlier 390 rods.

I beleive rods are OK to reuse, but pistons are generally turfed? Which of rods is "better", if any....

Can the rods be media blasted to clean them up, or is it best to leave that to the machine shop?
