It all depends on what you are looking for. A rebuildable core will run $200 to $300. A good running used engine can go $1000 to $2000. A complete rebuilt could be as high as $5000.
I paid $1200Cdn for a stock rebuilt 390 and C6 that was in a rolled Torino. Bad part was 6 months earlier i could have bought the whole car for that price. I needed that engine because it fit, so bought it.
