The beauty of the 393 stroker is that you can use stock rods and 302 pistons.

If I were going to buy an entire kit, I would go with the 408.

Is there a reason that you like the 393 more than a 408?

I went 383 because I am setting up for primarily for open track, not drag racing. The other reason is that it seems to be less stress on the block than 408, but that may just be unjustified fear. No need to push to the very edge of the limits.

FWIW, I found reference to one stroker kit for a 351w that had a 4.5" stroke. If you do the math, that's more than 450 c.i. I think you will find a link to it on http://www.cobralad.com
