Hi Guys,
I am new to the group. I just picked up a 66 coupe after a couple of years off from the hobby. I have been working on a '53 Hudson the last couple of years and am glad to be working on something a little more modern with parts available. Anyway, here's the question. Is there a cable adjustment on the 4 speed shifter handle for the reverse lockout. The lockout knob rattles at highway speed. The car is quiet and smooth, but this rattle is very annoying. I couldn't find anything in the manual on it.

There is a plastic liner for the metal sleeve that is rattling, they deteriorate and fall away over time.

To replace the part, you have to unsolder a cable thats inside the shifter.

Bill Heeley (301-774-6710) has the part or can repair yours...
