Any date within 30 days of asembly is generally accepted. On up to 90 days before. "Assembly plants" often dod not have a lot of warehouse space. Rather, stuff arrived in time as required by what was ordered. there is usually a lot of freight train traffic, and truck deliveries to keep it all moving.

2 weeks to 90 days.......
same day as built would not be correct as the engines are built elsewhere then shipped to the assembly plant so you have transit time......

Is Jan 6 the actual build date, or the date off the tag? They often vary.

If door tag and the actual build date were a week or so apart (not uncommon) the "same" date on a pieces of sheet metal or other part "could" be correct... but not for an engine, as noted they required casting, maching, etc prior to shipping to the plant so generally lead the rest of the parts and are typically the "oldest" parts of the car...
