I'm pretty sure I asked this question once before but I'll be darned if I can find the post. I am restoring a 70 Q code Mach 1. It's a 4-speed car with axle code 9 (3.25 standard axle ratio). The question is since this is a 428 car what are the rear axle specs? Should it have 31 spline axles, traction loc and big bearings even thought it has a "standard" axle? Is it possible that it could have had a small bearing housing even though it is a 428 car? Did Ford make 9" rears with 31 spline axles in a small bearing housing? Thanks again.

Thanks. Couldn't remember where I had asked this question before. Turns out it was in the forums at 428cobrajet.org, not here.
