I am rebuilding my 289. I purchased some stock 4v heads to replace my 2v heads. Does anybody know what the stock numbers are for the 4v? I would like to have 1.94-1.6. Is this possible?

hipo heads are 1.78/1.45, casting numbers C4OE-B, C5OE-A, C5AE-E, some were 1.67/1.45, casting C3OE
standard 289 4v heads were 1.67/1.45

IME, the A-code and C-code heads for 289's are essentially similar, particularly in the early years (64.5-66)....

Most of the heads I've worked on had the 1.78 IN/1.45 EX

Any shop can grind the seats (or install hard seats) to fit the valves you talk about, although in the early heads, I wouldn't go any bigger than 1.90/1.60....the chamber is just too tight...

Don't forget, with bigger valves, you'll need to do some bowl work and port cleanup to utilize their full potential....

The K-coder heads are fairly rare (you mentioned HiPo) and you can see what they look like here
