first of all, the car is not a rustbucket. dan i dont know any cars that have sat outside since 1978 in the seattle area, but i bet you this one would blow them away..... regarding carroll shelby.... the torino has the same cobra emblems on the side as my 68 GT 500 so why would he be pissed? is it a shelby, no not really, but it made you look huh? regarding the paint, id estimate 60-70 % of the original paint is there. why is this important? well there is no bondo under original paint. would it be better to go primer the whole thing/hiding the flaws underneath./? no........
yes mikeo it is sort of shabby , and its not a 65 I6 coupe, but it is an R code 428 super cobra jet 4 speed. the rear end tag decodes to a 4.30 detroit locker.... the original 428CJ exhaust manifolds if im not mistaken. . it has c7ae-A heads leading me to believe the motor to be a 390 GT out of a 67 S code mustang thats gotta be worth something to someone. .if this was a mustang sportsroof wouldnt it sell for around 5-6000 $? it certainly needs a full restoration. its a neat car for someone who likes the look of the torinos. is it for everyone? no, so if you dont like it dont bid on it, but it is a worthy project for someon. BTW the corvette is not for sale. hehe
