I checked the items we talked about yesterday. One thing that's got me wondering is the carpet. I have a square heel pad but no toe pad. That seems consistent with Smokin Joe's post. But it does not have vinyl on the sides. The carpet goes up under the square edged sil plates, just like on my 66. The carpet appears original, but I don't understand the vinyl thing.

Another question: Does the 64 1/2 Specifications and Fact Guide document the oddities of this wierd animal?

Only the '64½ coupe carpet had the serged edges. The convertible carpet ran up the inner rocker and under the sill plate. The coupes had a vinyl strip between the sill plate and the floor along the inner rocker.

I've got an article from Mustang Monthly that goes through the differences. I know they aren't the best source for vintage info, but at least it's got a pretty long list and some pictures to boot. Actually it might be complete and accurate for all I know. I've got the issue here at work if you've got a descrete fax number I'll fax it to ya.

By the way it's November 2000 issue. The one with the "Gone in 60 seconds" car on ther cover.
