I have a 64 1/2 coupe with the 170 and sick C4 transmission. Due to its non-Green Dot shifting pattern, It is either a post '67 unit or has had its valve body replaced. I am looking to replace it with a more correct Green Dot unit. In the shop manual, there are different transmission models listed for 170 and 200 engines. Are there any adaptations or problems I will run into using a 'generic' C4 as a replacement? Thanks for your input.
