I recently purchased a pair of the lower window stops for my coupe, but am completely unable to find where they are mounted. When I look through the shop manuals, they are shown in the Fairlane, Comet, etc. mounted on a large u-shaped arm extending into the door. They are shown in the drawings for the 67-68 and the 70's versions. I can find no reference in the 65-66 drawings or any mounting points in the door panel. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You'll see a bracket welded to the very bottom of the door (on the inside of the door) with a slot in it. The window stop goes into the slot of the bracket.

Not every 65-66 door has the necessary bracket at the bottom of the door. My passenger door, which is the original for my early 65, does not have it, but the driver's side, which came from a 66, does have it.
