I have two crossmembers that look the same
other than the holes for the mount. One has
holes and the other has slots. Is the one with
slots for a manual trans or a different year?
The one that can off my 65 fastback automatic
has holes.
TIA

The slots do look like they are stamped that way,
maybe it was from a different supplier to Ford.
Thanks for the input.

I had picked up a couple of 65/66 trans mounts over the years during the Fastback's restoration. When installation time came, I noticed that one had holes and one had slots. I assumed the slots were a mod and installed the one with holes. Your post inspired me to dig the slotted one out and look at it again. It actually isn't a perfect slot in that it appears to be a pair of holes about 11/16" apart with the slot between them a little narrrower than the dia of the holes. The outboard holes are fairly close to the edge of the mount. The mount appears to have all its original rust and it looks like the holes in the center of the mount were the ones that were used.
