I have a freind who wants to do the 4 to 5 lug conversion on his car... He owns a 65 Mustang, and has a set of spindles from a 67... do any of you guys know if this will work? Will the ball joints and tie rods work? he just replaced those on the car and does not want to have to go and buy all new parts again.
Thanks

Yes. They'll fit the balljoints fine. The only difference is if they are disk brakes. The 67 uses a different bracket then the 65.

The problem you will find comes from the 65 steering linkage. You will need to upgrade the linkage to the V8 stuff. More specifically the tie rods for the I6 are too small for the V8 spindles. MustangSteve.com sells adaptors so you won't have to replace the inners and outers.

the 67 spindles will fit the ball joints but the tie rod end is larger than even the 65 v8. you will need to upgrade to the 65 v8 steering components but use 67-69 outer tie rods for this conversion to work on a 65 66.
