yes, You have 64.5 carpet. You should have vinyl inserts that go up to the sill plates. I had a Dec. dearborn 65 coupe that had this also. Is yours red?

Is this new or original carpet? In either case, as long as it isn't a problem with the quality of the carpet and the maker it is likely what is referred to as 64 1/2 style of carpet. These were installed in early coupes and later early 65 production fastbacks. They filled this gap with a thin piece of fairly thin vinyl that matched the interior color

Hope this helps

Chances are the carpet is original since it's the 64.5 style, Do you know the scheduled Build date?????

If not post your data-plate numbers and I'll decode it.

My dec. 64 Dearborn coupe had this also like I said, THey would use up all the left overs before they changed. I have only seen this on red carpets that late into the 65 models.
